When designing a part for angle bending, these major factors must be considered:

The minimum bend radius for the material. Bends sharper than this will cause the material to crack,The springback that can be expected, This factor is the degree to which the material moves back toward its original shape when the forming pressure is removes. While it can be mathematically estimated, actual springback can be determined through experimentation with the bending process.The size of blank needed to produce a part of proper finish size. Bend allowances must be considered.The minimum length of the material which can be bent. The length of the material must be at least the bend radius plus one and one-half to two times the thickness of the metal.The tolerance that can be expected.
